Simon is the Strategic Director of the School of Sustainable Food and Farming having led on its development since 2021. Simon has been at Harper Adams since 2010, leading on Supply Chain Management and International Agribusiness and has worked extensively with companies in the UK and internationally on sustainable business strategy, marketing, collaboration and procurement of raw materials. Simon advises major retailers and processors on sustainable supply chains, working with their farmer groups to support the reduction in their GHG emissions.
Simon helped produce the “Application of science to realise the potential of the agricultural transition” report which launched at the House of Lords in November 2022. Following a key recommendation of that report, which encouraged national coordination of demonstration farms across the UK, Simon co-founded the Sustainable Farm Networks in 2024 as a key industry objective and output of the School of Sustainable Food and Farming.
