David Michie is an experienced professional with over 20 years of experience in the agricultural industry. After obtaining a degree in agriculture, he worked on the family farm in Aberdeenshire for several years. Since then, he has held significant roles in the agricultural sector including as a farm business consultant at SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College), Associate Director of Farming and Land Use for Soil Association Scotland, and a Policy Manager responsible for cropping (combinable crops, potatoes, and horticulture) at NFU Scotland. In this time David has been involved in many aspects of knowledge transfer and innovation, from on-farm facilitation, project management, development and fundraising, knowledge transfer research, and policy development.
David currently works as a Co-op Development Manager at SAOS, working with Scotland’s agri co-op businesses and delivering supply chain projects.
